PROGRAM from 23 to 30 August 2021
L'Aquila returns on an international stage of culture and arts for the 727th Celestinian Forgiveness, from 23 to 30 August, a week full of unmissable events, including concerts, performances, and historical re-enactments.
The most important annual event of Abruzzo’s capital never stops, overcoming every difficulty: the earthquake, the pandemic Covid-19, the terrible fires that recently destroyed almost 800 hectares of woods, taking on, in this edition, an important meaning, thanks to the commitment of the Mayor Pierluigi Biondi, and the will of the artistic director, Maestro Leonardo De Amicis.
"It will be a completely different Forgiveness from the previous editions - says the first citizen Pierluigi Biondi - It is the second edition after the recognition as an intangible heritage of UNESCO, but it will have to consider the anti-contagion measures. L'Aquila, a place of “avant-garde” and experimentation , in full harmony with the revolutionary Celestinian message, realizes that covid-19 does not stop culture, as neither the earthquake has, and on the contrary, through it, starts again and rebuilds.
